Ableton x Ambrio Sound: Spatial Mixer 101

This hands-on workshop invites DJs and live artists to explore spatial sound as an active performance tool using Ableton Live and the Ambrio Sound SPM Spatial Mixer. 

Six-part Masterclass | 30 Jan –1 Feb 2026

Composing Space in Multichannel Environments

CTM, Urbiks Music, and spæs lab present a three‑day masterclass in spatial audio. Participants will delve into the practices shaping today’s most advanced spatial sound production. The masterclass is composed of five workshops and concludes with a sixth session on translating studio work to live spatial performance in collaboration with d&b Soundscape.

CTM Radio Lab

The project »21s« by Emiddio Vasquez which was selected from open call, and a second work by Khrystyna Kirik and Mark Bain commissioned separately, will premiere at CTM 2026. Their performances will explore the intersection of radio with live performance within the context of the theme of »dissonate < > resonate.«

Spatial Audio Workshops | 26 – 28 Jan 2026

d&b Soundcape

Soundscape is an object based audio platform by d&b audiotechnik which can open a new dimension in our listening experience. A series of workshops and concerts will allow participants to immerse themselves through the Soundscape system and gain firsthand experience.

Environing Technologies and Elemental Necropolitics of War

Tying into themes of ecological terror present in the CTM 2026 Exhibition and several performances in the festival's music programme, Dr. Svitlana Matviyenko will lead a seminar focused on establishing a common language with which to read and analyse artworks at the intersection of ecology and war.

Public Audition Session | 25 Jan 2026

Growlers Choir Casting

During their stay at CTM 2026 Montreal's Growlers Choir will hold auditions for growlers and extreme vocalists based in Berlin and Europe, who could become part of future productions and performances. The casting session is open to the public, free entry.

Artistic Lab | 26 Jan – 1 Feb 2026

Resynthesising the Traditional

This artistic lab returns for a second edition at CTM, and will regroups six fellows selected via open call to engage critically and in-depth with aesthetic, discursive, and technological approaches when connecting to musical and cultural heritage.
