Within CTM’s dedicated thread on the expanded possibilities of spatial audio, The Fifth Ear, several workshops will take place in collaboration with d&b audiotechnik around their Soundscape spatial audio system to allow everyone interested to familiarise themselves with the idea of immersive audio and understand the concept of object-based audio.

Soundscape is an object-based audio platform by d&b audiotechnik that can open a new dimension in our listening experience. It has been trialled and toured all over the world, from musicals to festivals and concerts, and for performances by Björk, Brian Eno, or the London Philharmonic. Weaving through the CTM 2026 edition will be a series of concerts and performances exploring the possibilities of Soundscape, as well as dedicated workshops that will allow participants to enhance their understanding of spatial audio and to gain firsthand experience.
