Echoes of Tumult brings together works of witnessing and processing violence, systemic failure, and vulnerability, by artists who are in varying proximity to the realities they are examining. Through approaches ranging from speculative and documentary, to sensorial, theatrical, and personal, their works resonate with and against current realities at the nexus of ecological crisis, geopolitics, and war. They deliberately bring us into contact with painful and complex situations, oscillating between conflict and resistance, and at times unexpectedly echoing with solidarity and hope.
The exhibition is the result of collaboration between CTM Festival, the DAAD Artists-in-Berlin Program, and iii – instrument inventors initiative and features works by artists within their respective networks, most of which have been supported through their residencies and programmes.
