Electronic music's global networks face unprecedented challenges: platform monopolisation, venue closures, artist precarity, and the broader political instability reshaping cultural landscapes worldwide. As traditional industry models prove inadequate to these pressures, scenes across the globe are developing alternative approaches.

This conversation examines how cooperative models, mutual aid networks, and community are creating more sustainable pathways forward for electronic music's interconnected ecosystem. Artist and advocate Louisa Pillot and Subvert founder Austin Robey will discuss practical alternatives to extractive platforms such as Spotify, from artist-owned cooperatives to mutual aid networks, and explore what it takes to build sustainable, independent systems that prioritise artists and communities over shareholders.

In an era when cultural spaces face increasing threats from gentrification, corporate consolidation, or political repression, understanding how communities organise collectively isn't just about preserving underground culture, but about developing resilient tools and models that can adapt to rapidly changing conditions while maintaining the values and relationships that make electronic music communities meaningful.
