Haus der Visionäre40 / 32 €We’re thrilled to be presenting the world premiere of Modeselektor’s album »MDSKLTKR« together with special guests including Kabeaushé and an opening set by Gudrun Gut.
Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary emerged from the post-Wall Berlin underground in the 1990s, bringing the unruly energy of illegal parties and Tresor-era club culture into a live sound packed with distorted synths and slappably elastic low end, plopped atop oversized hooks. Their instinct for sudden tonal shifts gives each album and set an unmistakable sense of controlled instability. Custom visuals and HD soundsystems are tuned for maximalist physical impact. Out January 2027 on their own Monkeytown Records, their latest album »MDSLKTR« quite literally returns the duo to their foundations, digging into nearly three decades of studio sessions and unfinished ideas, renewing and repurposing them into new beginnings. Built through reduction, arrangements are pared down to clearer structures where their propulsive power shines brighter than ever.

Rising to prominence in 1980s Berlin as part of Mania D, Matador, Malaria!, and Einstürzende Neubauten, Gudrun Gut is an absolute subcultural icon. Her background as a key figure in the city’s »geniale Dilletanten« still casts an aura of mechanised rhythms and a frozen emotional palette, but decades of improvisation and collaboration have deepened her sense of composition and melody beyond easy categorisation.

‘Cultural detritus thrown into a furnace and melted together’ is how Kabeaushé makes pop music. A grab-bag of genres from rap, electronics, baroque, gospel, disco, rock and cinematic soundtracks emerge in lurching new configurations, carried by vocals that glide from murmured speech into falsetto as aurals shimmer and erupt around them. Theatrical gestures and sudden shifts in scale open portals to fevered worlds with gleefully peculiar laws.
Further guests TBA soon.
