    There are key differences between making music at home or in a practice room versus performing on stage to an audience. What's the difference between a line check and a sound check? Why does the stage sound so different between soundcheck and show time? So much goes unexplained, it can be a daunting and confusing step to bridge. This workshop aims to provide a safer space to equip performers with basic technical knowledge.

    Topics covered will include:

    • From Studio to Stage: Understanding the differences, limitations and workarounds
    • Preproduction: Understanding and formulating tech riders
    • Gear: Microphones, Amplifiers, DI boxes, Interfaces, Effects, Monitor Speakers, In Ear Monitoring
    • Performance best practices
    • Language: Tech terms and communicating your sound wishes to the engineer
