d&b Soundscape

Immersive Audio Workshops

Soundscape is an object based audio platform by d&b audiotechnik which can open a new dimension in our listening experience. In various workshops led by audio engineer Peter Claes and system engineer Banu Sahin, the sessions allow participants to immerse themselves through the Soundscape system and gain firsthand experience.

Built on 40 years of pioneering experience, d&b Soundscape is the world’s most sophisticated sound system. It has been trialled and toured all over the world, from musicals, to festivals and concerts, and for performances by Björk, Brian Eno, or the London Philharmonic. At CTM 2024, d&b Soundscape will be used within events at Volksbühne, enhancing concerts by Aïsha Devi, Félicia Atkinson with Jules Reidy and crys cole, Petra Hermanová, and the production »Last and First Men« by NEON DANCE, Jóhann Jóhannsson & Yair Elazar Glotman, narration by Tilda Swinton.

The immersive audio workshops which are taking place at the ateliers of silent green, are hosted by Peter Claes who will explain how he approached his mix for Grace Jones at Jazzopen festival on a 180 degree d&b soundscape system, and Banu Sahin who will share an introduction to d&b Soundscape. For those wishing to gain even more experience after these introductory sessions, Sahin will also host a four-person interactive session where participants will engage in hands-on practice using d&b Soundscape.
