On October 3 2020, Tag der Clubkultur, an initiative of the Berlin Senate for Culture and Europe, and the Berlin Clubcommission, highlights and honors the diversity, vitality, and resilience of Berlin club culture, and supports it in times of the pandemic through diverse showcases all across the city. As part of the Tag der Clubkultur, CTM Festival and Berlin Clubcommission present a range of artistic voices that connect across sonic cultures. Standing for an open, networked, collaborative, and global music culture, the event features sets by Berlin club voyagers Aquarian (live), and Ziúr (DJ), as well as Projekt Gestalten selecting sounds throughout the night.
Nguyễn+Transitory share intricate synth explorations of fragility and connection in a search of how sound, proximity, and touch can be modulated to open up heightened forms of embodied listening together. Through their ongoing research and practice, the artists experiment with radical interpersonal relationships or, in their own words, »the attempt to reconnect with lost magic.«
The swirling soundscapes of the Psychedelic Choir, that use the transformative power of togetherness to shape, blur, de/construct sonic meaning, will immerse the audience as seven singers – Ana Kavalis, Florence Freitag, Gosia Gajdemska, Irina Gheorghe, Pauline Payen, Karoline Strys, Lyllie Rouvière, Zorka Wollny – and the drones of bass player Leah Buckareff soar throughout the space, alien sounds emanating from human bodies.
Live from remote locations, Mark Fell and Rian Treanor join forces with Berlin artist and dancer Justin F. Kennedy in a work that explores new forms of musical collaboration and structure at a time when our lives have become simultaneously physically disconnected yet digitally hyperconnected. The first in a new series titled »Inter-symmetric«, the project’s open and flexible infrastructure can accommodate audience participation, real-time contributions from collaborators in other remote locations. Technically speaking, the process does not involve the streaming of audio, instead being based upon the sharing of pattern generating data. All audio is generated by the user’s local computer, and is therefore uncompressed, high quality, and played without latency. The project aims to offer unusual alternatives to the technical, aesthetic and ideological limitations of streaming media and other traditional web-based formats. The project will undergo a further iteration at CTM 2021.
The entire evening takes place over an immersive 4-channel system. By traversing a section of Berlin’s multifaceted music and club culture, we hope to come together to listen, enjoy, and support each other.

Please do not bring large bags or backpacks (dimensions no larger than an A4 standard sheet of paper) to this event. Respect our code of conduct: we have a ZERO tolerance towards discrimination, harassment, and abuse in any form. An awareness team wearing pink »Take Care of Each Other« t-shirts will be at the entrance/exit and around the main performance area, to respond to harassment or complaints.
