
We are looking for a teammate to support us in the role of Press Relations & Communications. Integrated tightly with our communications department, the position includes writing as well as press outreach and management, plus collaboration with the press department of our sister festival, transmediale.
You will be responsible for drafting press releases and other festival-related content together with the communications team, and help plan marketing campaigns and implement communications strategies. You will be expected to build and strengthen relationships with German and international press and independent writers/bloggers in order to support marketing and communications strategies.
This is a freelance position initially offered for eight months. Applicants must be based in Berlin.

Job Description
- Main contact person for press requests
- Media partnership creation and management
- Active outreach / contact acquisitions and care
- Research and updates for online / print listings and calendars
- Exchange with transmediale press department
- Press accreditation management
- Coordinating artist materials and interviews
- Text production (press releases, website texts, newsletters, etc) in English, together with communications team
- Journalist hospitality & interview requests/coordination during CTM festival / events
- Creating a press report
- Web content entry
Qualifications
- Knowledge and love of experimental and pop music / arts, interest in the themes and topics explored in the festival’s programmes
- Experience with and enjoyment of writing and copy-editing
- Good command of English and German (spoken and written), other languages an asset
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Confidence and flexibility in speaking with a wide range of people
- Initial experience working in press relations
- Familiarity with Google docs; Adobe InDesign and Photoshop an asset
