We're pleased to announce the six selected fellows for the next edition of the Resynthesising the Traditional artistic lab which will take place 1 - 10 October 2026 in Yerevan, Armenia, in collaboration with NOPA festival. Congratulations to Homāyun, Iulia-Andreea Smeu *KITE, Jahan Xanlü, Loris, Maro Beriashvili, and Nino Dava, who were selected from over 100 applicants. We invite the public to attend a public presentation of their practices on 3 October 2026 at the Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art (NPAK), entry is free of charge.
The lab will be hosted by Cinna Peyghamy, Varder Baghdasaryan, and Varoujan Chetirian. Under the title »Fragmented Distance« it will focus on themes of diaspora, memory, displacement, transmission, and hybridity. It will take place in Armenia in collaboration with NOPA, a festival dedicated to sonic arts and experimental music.
Resythesising the Traditional is a long-term initiative by CTM Festival with Stas Shärifullá, that aims to explore what it means to connect to sonic traditions today through artistic labs, commissioned works and research, and more. The NOPA x CTM artistic lab is kindly supported by Goethe-Institut Armenia.
