Pablo Garretón

Analogue synthesizers, live processing, improvisation and spatial sound are Chilean composer Pablo Garretón’s bread and butter, examining how technology alters what we hear and how we perceive the world around us. There is a distinctly tactile quality to his work, close attention paid to tiny resonances and the material behaviour of sound. His compositions often place acoustic instruments inside unstable electronic environments. Garretón also performs with live electronics, moving between composition and improvisation with a sensitivity to the unpredictable.
