Matti Vilho

Visual artist Matti Vilho builds surreal audiovisual worlds of animation, live visuals, interactive technology and club culture. As much dream logic as science fiction, the bizarre characters and impossible landscapes destabilise the mind in delightful ways. The Helsinki-born, London-based Vilho has a background in practical filmmaking, motion graphics and animation, which gives his work a tactile cinematic quality; years spent creating visuals within Helsinki’s rave scene keep the imagery closely attuned to the thrust of the club.
