Bruno Gola
Artistic Lab
Bruno Gola builds his own instruments from code, networks and whatever pieces of tech he can make beep. Based in Berlin, the Brazilian artist and programmer spent years working with computers before turning toward art, a technical background that remains embedded in his music. Working with live coding, free improvisation, spatial audio and interactive electronics, sound can be generated and rerouted through DIY hardware and open-source tools of his own making. His work is particularly interested in agency and liveness, in what happens when a performer sets a system in motion and then has to respond to its unexpected turns.
