Oliver Coates has composed scores for the A24 films Aftersun (2022), Occupied City (2023), and Pillion (2025). He is a cellist and electronic music producer who releases music on RVNG Intl. He has collaborated with other artists such as Mica Levi, Joanne Robertson, Arca and Jonny Greenwood. He has performed and recorded over the years with Dean Blunt and Malibu. As a solo performer he has opened for Radiohead at Old Trafford Stadium, and has headlined a show for the Manchester International Festival curated by David Lynch. He is currently working on A Hand Rises, directed by Louise Stern, about a death in a close-knit UK deaf community. He lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland.
