Lena Brecht is part of the Berlin based collective khisdapaze e.V. that started to organize raves in secret locations around Berlin in 2016 and runs Sägewerk Festival in Cottbus-Drewitz with a focus on dance music in various facets and supporting newcomer acts since 2022. She has been involved in their Local Relations team since 2024. In this role, she works to more closely integrate neighboring communities and democracy-supporting actors from the region into the festival. She also initiates community-centered development processes within the collective which has grown significantly over recent years. It also found its new home within the model space at the former freight canteen at former Flughafen Tegel since September 2025 and plans to regularly contribute to Berlin’s cultural landscape.
With a professional background as a transformation consultant and systemic coach, her fields of interest have increasingly shaped her freelance and volunteering work since 2022. These include club and festival culture, engagement against right-wing extremism, and community-centered organizational development—combined with a queer-feminist perspective. As a DJ and organizer, she curates the event series What a Playground, focusing on FLINTA* newcomer bookings with a house music emphasis, skill-sharing formats, and creating safer spaces. Especially in times when the social climate is increasingly shaped by authoritarian forces, Lena seeks to create spaces for rest and shared experiences in which people can form new connections and collectively experience and shape culture.
