An Osaka-based producer and sound engineer, Hayashi’s ears inhabit dense, shape-shifting peaks of sonic tension. In between mastering Merzbow records, he sculpts his own world of distortion breathes, static hums, and hand-forged frequencies. His approach draws equally from experimental electronics, industrial atmospheres, and underground club culture’s kinetic energy. Noise, bass, and silence are balanced in exacting proportion, texture and impact highlighted above a melody ever-pulsing beneath it all, alive with voltage.

Releasing his first album Peculiar in 2021 on a two-vinyl set on Opal Tapes (including killer remixes by Jim O’Rourke and Merzbow) Kentaro extensively toured Europe with CTM favorites VMO Violent Magic Orchestra in 2023.
