Opening up a career spanning club culture, pop production, and radical sonic experimentation, GAZAEBAL began as a sound engineer in New York. Collaborating with global icons like Wu-Tang, he soon sliced out his own path as the first Korean artist to top the UK techno charts. His return to Seoul marked the start of an expansive trajectory: co-founding the collective Tacit Group, known for live algorithmic performances, and honing an artistic voice which blends clarity with immersive sound textures, all rooted in an engineering precision that never loses its immediacy.
Recent years have found him twisting toward deep, textured sound environments, documenting this evolution in releases like Sound: AL and Texture Music: 2011–2020. These works unfold as layered terrains, each piece evolving with its own topography of frequencies and resonances. As the founder of WeSA, he’s nurturing a new generation of Korean experimental musicians through residencies, workshops, and the WeSA Academy.
