Born In Flamez dissolves genre and identity in sound, weaving influences from deconstructed club, grime, lo-fi pop and classical into an unclassifiable chimera pulsing with uncanny organicness. Releasing tracks on labels like Infinite Machine, Monkeytown and UnReal and collaborating with the likes of Modeselektor, Health, and WWWINGS as well as touring with Bbymutha and Oneohtrixpointnever, they use their limited free time not only curating stages at CTM Festival, but composing and supervising music for ambitious theatrical works including the opera performance Sancta.

A radical recomposition of Hindemith’s Sancta Susanna through a queer-feminist lens where skateboarding nuns, bodily extremity and sacred imagery get blood-soaked. The production shocked viewers and caused nausea and fainting among audience members at stagings in Stuttgart while drawing intense reactions from religious groups who saw its treatment of iconography as offensive and provocative. Two thumbs way up!
