With over 500 releases on imprints like Mego, P.S.F., and Pogus, Courtis’ work explores the possibilities of sonic manipulation, blending high-level technical proficiency with an unwavering commitment to experimentation. A founding member of the experimental group Reynols, his compositions utilize a wide array of traditional and unconventional instruments, including self-built and prepared instruments, synthesizers, and field recordings. Courtis' distinctive approach to sound has made him a significant figure in the global avant-garde scene, as both a solo artist and in collaboration with renowned figures such as Pauline Oliveros, Phill Niblock, and Jim O'Rourke.

Courtis is also active in education and critical discourse. He coordinates workshops on field recording and experimental sound techniques at Buenos Aires’ Centro de Investigaciones Artisticas, while also conducting similar workshops globally. He has written extensively on the intersections of art and disability, contributing to The Wire, Musicworks, and Revue & Corrigée.
