A madcap collaborative project of Berlin-based experimental producer Shigeru Ishihara, and Vilnius-based Indonesian instrumental alchemist (and one half of the avant-garde duo Raja Kirik) J. Mo’ong Santoso Pribadi. Both celebrated for their wildly inventive solo works, their partnership is a vivid cultural dialogue: a collision of Asian traditional and underground sounds refracted through global influences. It conjures a hypnotic sense of déjà vu—music that feels both ancestral and futuristic, yet defies pinpointing in time or place.
The duo’s name draws from the rhythmic onomatopoeias found in Asian drum traditions and vocal percussion. It embodies their shared obsession with explosive polyrhythms and trance-inducing concoction of thundering bass, frenzied vocals, and raw energy, underpinned by a mischievous sense of humor. Their soundscape gleefully dismantles conventions, leveraging everything from cobbled-together junk instruments to hacked electronic devices.
