The Naarm-based media artist collaborates in contemporary performance, creating across film, live installations, and digital spaces.

Through his work, Mcgilp redefines how performance art lives and evolves within digital frameworks, opening new avenues for media in contemporary performance. His creative projects often emerge from unique intersections of performance and media. In 2020, he collaborated with Harrison Hall and Juzzy Kane on BONANZA!, a piece developed through Chunky Move’s Activators Program, which was later screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival and recognized as a Green Room Awards finalist.

A recipient of an Australia Council grant, Mcgilp also completed influential residencies at Japan's Kinosaki International Art Centre and Do-So Residency in Fujiyoshida. Recently, he earned his PhD at RMIT University, where he collaborated with Chamber Made to explore Digital Iterations, a study of digital works that interact with live performance. His research was supported by RMIT's Vice Chancellor's PhD Scholarship and honoured with an Emerging Scholar Award at Vancouver’s Art in Society Conference.
