With over a decade dedicated to working with communities affected by forced migration, Sailesh amplifies marginalized voices through art and advocacy. Their debut short »DogFriend« premiered at the British Film Institute, screened at Tribeca, and was nominated for the German Oscar in 2022. It is currently on exhibition at the German National Film Museum and is celebrated as a milestone in the new German cinema.

Sailesh is a trusted facilitator for the Berlinale's Equity Inclusion Pathways Seminar and »mother« to The Dolls, a collective for trans-femme and nonbinary individuals. Their work encompasses sound, performance, and film and has appeared in The New York Times, Die Zeit, GAL-DEM, with performances at the Gropius Bau, Volksbühne Berlin, Kantine am Berghain, and many others.
