Ginzburg founded Subtext recordings and Tectonic recordings in 2004 with British electronic musician Pinch, both of which were integral to the beginnings of dubstep and the subsequent international expansion of the genre. Pinch and Ginzburg’s track »War Dub,« the first release on Tectonic, is regarded as a seminal to the genre. In 2005 he began collaborating with contemporary art curator Paul Purgas on emptyset, a project which interrogates the boundaries between experimental music and conceptual art. 

His latest venture is Subtext Books, a sister imprint of the record label, which has recently released the speculative anthology »Cybernetics, or Ghosts?« Compiled by Ginzburg, the compilation has contributions from the label’s current and forthcoming artists, as well as from artists that were instrumental in the beginnings of the label.
