A sound artist, composer-performer, and researcher whose work spans live electronic and electro-acoustic improvisation, composition, and installations.

Exploring dynamical systems, liminality, sound perception, and bio- and eco-acoustics, Tagi uses a range of tools—from self-made instruments and daxophones to analog synthesizers, field recordings, and computer software—to create intricate sonic landscapes that bridge experimental techniques and personal narratives, shaped by his mixed Central Asian heritage and nomadic experiences.

Tagi’s works have been showcased at international festivals and exhibitions, including Los Angeles’ SoundPedro, the Bauhaus Festival in Germany, and the Korkut Sound Art and New Music Biennial in Kazakhstan. In collaboration with Lena Pozdnyakova as the duo the2vvo, Tagi’s project »Presence« was featured in Kazakhstan’s pavilion at the 2024 Venice Biennale. His film-related compositions include the credits track “Ghost in My Head” for Unfriended (2013) and “Caustic” for Hardcore Henry (2015). Tagi also composed for Dragon: Love is a Scary Tale and the documentary Sea Tomorrow.
