Hailing from the Republic of Kalmykia, located in the North Caucasus region of Southern Russia, Sarangova dismantles established narratives and explores both collective and personal memories and identity through research and embodied techniques like performance and hand embroidery, as well as the narrative mediums of sound essays and video art. Among her recent works is the performance from the Archaeology of Progress series, shown at Aktionshaus Berlin in April 2023. She studied Performance at Central Saint Martins, London, and completed an MA in Art in Context at UdK, Berlin.
