Percussionist, sound artist, and curator, SHAPE+ supported artist Riccardo La Foresta has put in a lot of research into questioning the role of the drum. Using a Drummophone – four bass drums sounded by streams of compressed air – La Foresta explores the resonance of the percussion together with Ginzburg.

Known for his crushingly intense work as Emptyset, here Ginzburg employs a custom mechanised string instrument, entwining these sonics together as they examine intrinsic connections between the musician, their instrument, the breath and energy they put into it.
