With a steady stream of mixes and the EP Triste Tapes, Jana has already established herself as one of the hottest young locals in the biz. Her captivating blend of hauntingly breathy, synth-laden atmosphere, garage-dredged kicks, and dark dance energies have kept her name buzzing locally, and as part of the decentralised collective Special Project she’s instituted the leftfield label C0d3X R3C0RDS to further spread the emerging diversity in underground SWANA sounds. Curating the event series Dawash as a showcase for Egypt’s experimental music scene, she’s slowly establishing herself not only as a powerhouse behind the decks, but as a stalwart leader in the region’s avant-garde party nightlife.
