Based in Uganda’s capital, Kampala, Authentically Plastic has carved their niche with an uncompromising sound influenced by anything from quasi-electronic Northern Ugandan rhythms, to early acid experiments and Afrofuturism – as well as through their inherently political club night ANTI-MASS, which welcomes femme, queer, and experimental artists, and offers them safe space in a repressive socio-political environment. Cultural curator and historian Kathleen Bomani will speak to the artist about their artistic vision and practice.
