    The internationally renowned American composer, performer, and multi-media installation artist – who died in 2009 – was a 20th century maverick of music and sound, working extensively to develop her »ear tone music, with the physiological phenomenon called otoacoustic emission – in which the ears themselves act as aurally active generating devices.

    Pioneering gqom producer Menzi has crafted a unique sound by diverting from the genre's usual structures and arrangements. In this session, the artist will give a short introduction about himself, his music journey, and the essentials of gqom. In the second part of the session, Menzi will give a live demonstration of how to create a gqom track.

    Requirements

    The workshop is open to all levels of producers and music fans. If participants want to create a track, they will need to bring their own computer with music production software (Ableton, fruityloops etc), and headphones. People can also simply attend as listeners.
