    The internationally renowned American composer, performer, and multi-media installation artist – who died in 2009 – was a 20th century maverick of music and sound, working extensively to develop her »ear tone music, with the physiological phenomenon called otoacoustic emission – in which the ears themselves act as aurally active generating devices.

    Schmidt, now 85 years old, has reinvented himself again and again; the film follows his path from classical conductor to student of Stockhausen and Ligeti to CAN, and then further on to film music for Wim Wenders and Roland Klick, opera, and electronic club music. Including rare, partly private photo and video recordings from a time that now seems very exotic, colorful, and crazy this biopic »makes you want to travel back in time and gives you the chance to have been there.« – Sunburnsout.
