Perretta has exhibited and screened his films in group and solo presentations internationally. He was nominated for the Jarman Award in 2019 and was a winner of the Jerwood/FVU award in 2017 and a Paul Hamlyn Foundation Artist Award in 2020/21. He was also named a Turner Prize Bursary winner in 2020 for his moving image work, the destructors.

In addition to his practice as an artist, Perretta works collaboratively on various experimental sound projects including AMRA, with Paul Purgas, and Suroor with Paul Purgas and Nabihah Iqbal. He has performed at festivals and venues across the UK and Europe.
