The first focus of their energies was the now-closed Lärm venue, plus co-founding a club called Flashback with three other friends, ran until March 2020 when the first lockdowns started hitting. Opening up Flashback definitely revitalised the warehouse parties in Budapest. Using a warehouse space was necessary because opening a venue in the inner city was almost impossible financially, and in bureaucratically. Later in 2021, when the restrictions were easing, Bozkurt and friends opened a pop up venue for half a year in Csepel, a heavy industry area in the south of Budapest. They’ve since taken a break from organising, until further notice, finding that many things have changed, from the economic situation of the country, to the trends that currently occupy the underground, within which Bozkurt is not fully comfortable working.
With their partner Thilo Marx, they produce music under the name in silence. The duo also run a conceptual label together called AM 01:09:69 JUN-05-1970, with a storyline about the character x. To unlock the storyline one must solve puzzles and various hidden messages – it’s even possible to win real world items once a puzzle is solved. While the label is currently on hiatus in order to reorganize the direction of the storyline and the label’s music approach, the pair aim to relaunch it in 2023.
