This work for voices and a newly-made brass object sources Armenian spells and incantations that are codified attempts to conjure the supernatural, avert bad luck, and deflect misfortune through apotropaic magic.

Kontinuum Generative Artwork Commission

In Search of Good Ancestors / Ahnen in Arbeit

Jonathan Reus has been selected as winner of this year’s Kontinuum call for generative sound work. Launched with the start of the festival, Reus’s work takes the shape of an artificial broadcaster that will perform a year long radio stream to amplify and disseminate the ideas of long-term thinking and intergenerational responsibility.
