Moisés Horta Valenzuela works in the fields of computer music, artificial intelligence, and the history and politics of emerging digital technologies. Under his alias 𝔥𝔢𝔵𝔬𝔯𝔠𝔦𝔰𝔪𝔬𝔰, his use of sound technologies is channeled through a critical decolonial theory lens in the context of contemporary electronic music and the sonic arts. Prehispanic sound artifacts from ancient México, contemporary brain-computer interfaces and hand-crafted electronic instruments blend together to situate the listener in a teknoXamanistic ritual of rhythmic noise soundscapes which address the politics of colonization and occupation – whether it be on the dancefloor or interactive immersive sound installations.
His work has been presented at Ars Electronica, MUTEK México, Transart Festival, MUTEK: AI Art Lab Montréal, Elektron Musik Studion, and CTM Festival, among others. An alum of the Red Bull Music Academy (2010), he is currently active as an artist and developer of AI tools aimed at computer music and sonic artists.
