»Jump Cut« is a six-part web series of streamed collaborations between multidisciplinary artists. Conceived by Dana Gingras/Animals of Distinction as a way to survive and thrive in pandemic times, the series curates unpredictable encountesr between artists who are currently working in isolation. Each episode will feature a unique combination of artists to create a multi-disciplinary collaboration that will only be accessible as a unique online experience.

The inaugural episode features Dana Gingras (Montreal), Sonya Stefan (Montreal) and Tot Onyx (Berlin), who first collaborated in 2018 on a live performance, titled »anOther.« For episode 1 of »Jump Cut,« the trio of artists, restless and confined, have created an eerie offering. Set in a lost space that leads nowhere, it is filled with disembodied and embodied presences that roam, taunt and multiply each other across planes.

The work is shown as part of CTM's trans/local performance series, which features commissioned works that will be live streamed from the silent green Betonhalle venue. Each performance unites a Berlin-based artist with creators in other parts of the world, who explore ways of remote collaborative work and performance.
