Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, much of CTM’s 2021 edition will take place online. Events are also not all contained to the festival’s core dates: the festival launches with a limited number of workshops in December and mid-January, leading to the festival core 19–31 January 2021. A series of in-person events will follow throughout the second half of 2021, if possible.
Most online events will be free of charge, however some events such as workshops have limited capacity and require pre-registration. A few events are available only with a purchased ticket. Please check event information in the festival event calendar for more details.
As always, the Discourse programme talks and lectures will be recorded and made available on our Soundcloud and YouTube channels after the festival. For our 2021 edition, some of the special performances and commissions will also be archived online for later viewing. Check individual event descriptions in the festival calendar for details.
CTM has a zero-tolerance policy towards any kind of discrimination. We continue to work within our team and with our venue partners to ensure that our events are welcoming and safe for the most diverse public possible. If you find yourself in an uncomfortable situation at any festival event, be it on- or offline, please let us know. We have a designated team that will respond to emails ify ou’d like to report an incident or give us feedback: wesupportyou@ctm-festival.de.
We also encourage you to check out our code of conduct, which this year has been updated considering best practices for online netiquette.
The 2021 edition’s online and hybrid events including the daytime programme, along with supporting material (e.g. the festival magazine) are in English.
Yes, please send these to submissions@ctm-festival.de at any time of year, and they will be forwarded to our curatorial team. Please be sure to provide short information about yourself and your project. Since we receive massive amounts of demos, please note that we are only able to respond to applications that we are seriously interested in.
We keep busy with many other projects outside of the festival period. In Berlin, we hold regular club nights at various venues in Berlin, and special concerts at venues such as HKW or Festsaal Kreuzberg. We also collaborate with like-minded organisations or networks such as ICAS or SHAPE on events all over the world. Sign up for our newsletter or follow us on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to keep up with our news.
