Volunteer FAQ

Is any previous experience required?

We don’t expect any previous experience or knowledge, though we do expect volunteers to bring dedication, enthusiasm, and sufficient time to their work at CTM Festival. Basic knowledge of English is also an advantage.

What kind of tasks are involved in volunteering at CTM?

There are many different roles you might be assigned, such as: exhibition and site set-up, technical set-up, guest management, hospitality, etc.. You can indicate which types of tasks you are interested in in the application form.

When will I find out if my application has been successful?

Mid-December. Please note that submitting the application form does not guarantee a volunteer position.

Do I have to be available for all 10 days of the Festival?

We expect volunteers to be available for a minimum of three days during the festival; you can indicate your availability in our application form. Applicants with highest availability have better chances of being selected. The final shift plan will be sent to you in January.

Can I work together with my friend?

We do our best to accommodate such requests, but please understand that they don’t always work out. You can swap shifts with other volunteers if you wish—but both volunteers must keep us informed of such changes. Also keep in mind: volunteering at CTM is a great way to meet new people!

Will I get a full Festival pass?

If you wish to receive a full CTM Festival pass, please indicate so in your application and make sure you will be available and willing to work for a minimum of 3-5 shifts (shift hours vary). Less working hours will qualify you for individual concert/club night tickets. You’re more than welcome to take on more shifts, and many of our volunteers choose to do this!

Can I get an accommodation or pick-up service?

Childcare, accommodation, parking, and transportation are your responsibility. All venues are easily accessible via public transportation. For more info check our visitor info section.

Will I get a certificate for my volunteering?

Usually not. If you wish to receive a reference, please contact us directly and we are happy to write a short statement for you once you have completed your volunteering to a good standard.
