An expansive programme spanning caustic noise, infectious rhythms, genre-bending electronics, and all good things in between takes over Berghain, Säule, and Panorama Bar.
Prolific Vietnamese composer, producer, and label-founder Nguyen Hong Giang plays live as part of a formidable noise programme in Berghain's Säule. C-drík is a musician, activist, curator, DJ, and author, in addition to the Syrphe label head. Based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, is Sodadosa, who has been active as part of numerous noise projects such as Punkasila, Feces Anatomy, and Sulfur. Hacklab hosts Peter Kirn, Lintang Radittya, and Andreas Siagian collaborate on a special performance. Following the release of her acclaimed eponymous album, AJA is guaranteed to deliver a bizarre, maximalist hellscape of a performance.
Rambo, Nguyen Hong Gian, Lintang Radittya, Andreas Siagian, and Sodadosa appear as part of Nusasonic, an initiative of Goethe-Institut Southeast Asia that is collaboratively curated by Yes No Wave (Yogyakarta), WSK Festival of the Recently Possible (Manila), Playfreely/Black Kaji (Singapore), and CTM Festival (Berlin).
Noise artist AJA stages some of the most captivating and confrontational performances in the electronic music underground, inviting a reciprocative catharsis between her and the audience. The sonic density in her work borders on the psychedelic, as deep drones are ripped apart by arrhythmic percussion; all the while her stage presence, a mess of fluorescent paint and exposed flesh, create an overwhelming experience.
