On invitation of the II Korkut Sonic Arts Triennale in Almaty, the Resynthesising the Traditional artistic lab will be held at the Tselinny Center for Contemporary Culture in October 2025. Lab fellows will give short performances at this public session, and speak about their work in dialogue with the lab co-hosts, as well as lab co-curators Stas Shärifullá and Taïca Replansky.

From 15 – 25 October six fellows selected via open call will be working together with co-hosts Medina Bazarğali and Bilawa Respati. Under the title »The Wind Howls« it will focus on aural traditions and the wind as both a powerful cultural symbol and physical element. At the lab's core is the guiding metaphor of resynthesis – a processing method in computer music that analyzes sounds to extract their fundamental components. Through this lens, the lab aims to confront conservative views of culture as something frozen, solidified, and generally untouchable, thus resistant to any transformative practices.
