After six years of activity, our partner Berlin Community Radio will be closing their doors. BCR is only one of several independent experimental music platforms that have had to close in recent years. The difficulty in finding sustainable models and solutions in (music) culture is a question that has preoccupied many in the independent music scene, and demands ongoing open discussion, imagination, and experimentation. As a way to celebrate BCR’s contributions to Berlin’s music culture and to mark the end of a partnership that saw wide-ranging artist interviews and broadcasts, we’re pleased to announce one final collaboration taking place at CTM 2019.
Live radio broadcasts from BCR’s studio in Mitte will take place before and during the festival, extending the festival’s reach and offering artists a chance to elaborate on their live sets in conversation with BCR hosts. BCR also joins the CTM 2019 Exhibition Opening with a DJ set from Perila.
