Varder Baghdasaryan
Artistic Lab
Varder Baghdasaryan is an Armenian interdisciplinary artist, curator, and sound practitioner working under the artistic names Qi and spellsphere. Her work is shaped by low-frequency resonance, hypnotic rhythms, organic sonic layers, and narrative structures. She treats sound as both a sensory experience and a cultural carrier, linking rhythm, symbolism, and perception into shared experiential fields. Her research explores how myth, ritual, and ancestral knowledge translate into contemporary artistic expression and collective experience. Focusing on expanded modes of perception and the human connection to the more-than-human world, she creates projects that open nuanced paths of sensing, listening, and relating.
In 2025, she founded Siooqh, an independent label and platform dedicated to sonic storytelling, experimental curation, and artistic research. As Qi, she performs internationally and holds a residency at Berlin-based CRUDE. Her work has been presented at venues and festivals including Säule (Berghain), Horoom (Bassiani), and Yaga Gathering.
