gamut inc »Dialogue de l'orgue double«

Premiere | CTM 2026

The Berlin-based duo of Marion Wörle and Maciej Śledziecki, gamut inc focuses on electro-acoustic and machine-built performances, sharpening a critique of mechanisation, digitality, and the human in between.

This commissioned work took shape as a spatial performance inaugurating their custom-built modular windynamic organ BLACK SQUARE developed by the traditional music automaton manufacturer Decap, which unlocks new possibilities in acoustic resynthesis. Using machine-learning processes, gamut inc re-create and project voices and sound materials through their two identical computer-controlled organ modules, dialoguing with a composition diffused over d&b Soundscape spatial PA-system.

gamut inc is the duo of Marion Wörle and Maciej Śledziecki. The project focuses on electro-acoustic and machine-built performances, sharpening a critique of mechanisation, digitality, and the human in between. The project is conceived around the construction of pre-modern instruments and the control of these instruments by recent technologies, resulting in an aesthetic that bridges the very old and the very new. Some of their century-spanning hybrid creations include a motorised electromagnetic plucked banjo, an automated physharmonica, an electromagnetic monochord, and an automated carillon.

gamut inc's »Dialogue de l'orgue double« is a co-production with Deutschlandfunk Kultur, SWR and E-Werk.
