Jena Jang’s work interrogates the dynamics of energy exchange between human and non-human bodies, using sound as a conduit for connection and disruption. Rooted in experimental audio and somatic vocal practice, their biotechnic approach filters urban noise, bird song, and organic matter through DIY electronics and everyday devices.
Jang engages circuits, rituals, and biological networks to construct an idiosyncratic methodology rooted in the traditions of storytelling. Their performances often feature obsolete, scavenged technologies where memory is reprocessed into archival intimacy, propagated to reactivate childhood memory into intergenerational collective listening.
Since 2020, Jang has performed extensively across Europe and Asia, culminating in the 2025 release of their debut album Final Day on Elektramusic. Their works have circulated through platforms such as Radio Tsonami, Noh Radio, and Radio Alhara. Recent collaborations include a live duo project with Beijing-based musician gogoj, a performance with Saadet Türköz at Café OTO organized by the Chinabot label, and a split cassette with Hamburg-based noise artist David Wallraf.
