2023's Hacklab asked: What is the connective possibility of disruption – the creative response to collapse along boundaries? Rifts in geology are fractures, where the seeming permanence of the rocky skin of the Earth has been pulled apart. They are transitional environments that can reveal volcanic energy and possibility below. Drawing from the geographical image of surfaces fragmented at their borders, revealing active and unstable forces beneath, we invited artists to connect not only in harmonious co-creation but via turbulent forces of push and pull.
This Hacklab edition was co-hosted by Verónica Mota and Peter Kirn, and housed at silent green ateliers. The finale performance took place at HAU2. Two public Hacklab Input talks at silent green Kuppelhalle rounded out the lab's activities: »Pirouette Machine. Fluid Components« by Ioana Vreme Moser and »Poetics of Listening« talk by Brandon LaBelle.
