From January 24 to February 2, 2014, the transmediale and CTM festivals jointly offer one of the world's most pertinent, adventurous, and comprehensive reviews of the way new technologies and digital culture are shaping our lives.
Entitled, Dis Continuity, CTM 2014 will be dedicated to idiosyncratic musical pioneers and the influence of their ideas in contemporary pop and experimental music, thus attempting to explore and map fragments of an alternative or neglected history of electronic and experimental music that still waits to be fully written.
With the theme afterglow, transmediale 2014 speculates on positions that lead beyond the digital: not beyond the digital in a literal sense as in doing away with digital technology, but beyond the digital as a metaphysical character that overcodes all forms of existence.
Press professionals may apply for accreditation until January 15, 2014, and are invited to apply for one of three types of press accreditation:
Following approval, press professionals will receive confirmation emails with further details, including where and how to pick up your pass.
transmediale 2014 and CTM 2014 reserve the right to evaluate the applications individually for each festival and to deny requests. For instance, an application for Dual Press Accreditation may be changed to Accreditation for only one of the festivals, and applications to any of the three types of press accreditation may also be entirely denied.
Please note that due to the limited capacities of CTM 2014 venues, CTM Press Accreditations will be limited. For certain CTM 2014 venues, the Press Accreditation does not guarantee entry, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.
The transmediale 2014 + CTM 2014 Press Accreditation grants access to all transmediale 2014 and most CTM 2014 events (except the concerts at the HAU1 plus evtl. more TBA). Journalists with proven intent to review these special event should contact the CTM press office beforehand.
