Emptyset in conversation with Mark O Pilkington
Hosted by The Wire

Writer, publisher and experimental musician Mark O Pilkington meets with repeat CTM collaborators Emptyset to speak about the varying interests and directions of prolific duo’s work, from their music productions, to exploring earth science and material agency, as well as their recent foray into the art world via works such as “Imprint 1-3,” on view at the CTM 2015 Un Tune Exhibition.

Hosted by the Wire.

Mark O Pilkington[UK]

Mark O Pilkington is a writer, publisher, and experimental musician. At the helm of a London-based publication company named Strange Attractor, he aims to investigate esoteric and “unpopular” themes in the vein of neglected science articles and UFO conspiracies.

Emptyset is the the Bristol-based project of James Ginzburg and Paul Purgas, whose work across production, performance, installation, and the moving image tests the perceptual boundaries between noise and music. Since forming in 2005, Emptyset has continued to pursue the reduction or deconstruction of music to its most unadulterated form; densely technical, their work employs analogue gear to sculpt sine waves and white noise.
