Deena Abdelwahed

Issuing from the Tunisian alternative music scene, Deena Abdelwahed works to inject a dose of innovation and experimentation into electronic dance music in Tunisia. Trained in jazz as a singer and performer, Abedlwahed has taken up electronic music production and performing live and as a DJ.. She is currently part of the Arabstazy collective.

Abdelwahed debuted her musical career while accompanying jazzman Fawzi Chekili and the group “So Soulful” as a funk and jazz singer. In 2011, she joined in the World Full of Bass collective, introduced by Zied Meddeb Hamrouni, one of the first performers of experimental electronic music in Tunisia. Independent today, she continues performing in Tunisian nightclubs and festivals, as well as abroad (either solo as a DJ or with Arabastazy’s Artists). By combining urban rhythms and her personal touch, she offers energetic avant-garde music.
